I am still here! I know I haven't updated when the husband asks what's going on with the blog. Things have slowed down just a bit with Hannah not running now. After this week, she will be down to only 1 activity after school so YEA! Colton only got to play 1 Sunday for Fall Baseball because of all the rain we have had this Fall. We have another day of sun then it's supposed to start raining again.
Sunday I needed to take some pictures to get me caught up for my picture of the day. (Just to let you know I'm glad that little project will be over soon. It's been fun and I know it will be neat to look back thru the years to see what we were doing but it's a pain in the butt.) Brent drove me around on the Ranger. Our dog Max loves to run with us but he hasn't done it in a long time. He was a little bit tired, to say the least, when we were done. So here's a few pictures I took of him when we were out and about Sunday afternoon.
Can you believe that Halloween is this Saturday? Crazy. We will do our thing at Dad's house. We always have hot dogs. This will be the first Halloween since Mom died so I'm dreading that a little. She loved Halloween. My sister and I put out decorations at Dad's house and then he bought more lights and stuff yesterday to put out. Mom would have been very proud :)

Sausage Cheese Puffs
We like to have "snackie" suppers at our house. I always make sausage balls. I came across this recipe a few years ago and it's the only way I make these babies now. They are great to have in the morning for leftovers with some scrambled eggs. Hope you like :)
Sausage Cheese Puffs
1 lb sausage
1 10oz package sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 C Bisquick or any other all purpose baking mix
1/2 C water
1 tsp baking powder
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients in large bowl. Shape into 1-inch balls. Place on lightly greased baking sheet. Bake 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot. Refrigerate leftovers.

State Champions
Friday Hannah ran in OKC for the Junior High Cross Country State Championship. I am so proud of her. We told her since she was the youngest that she probably wouldn't get a medal but this would be a great experience for her. She got 34th out of 80 and made the 3rd All-Star team. Amazing.
Getting a pep talk.
On the starting line.
Hannah is in there some where.
Down the home stretch.
Oh my she is so proud of this medal.
Congratulations to the Lady Wildcats for a fantastic season!!!

Cross Country 10.12.09
Hannah's last "her age" Cross Country meet held at Plainview, OK.
These girls are so supported of one another. If she has learned nothing else, I know she has learned a lot about what it means to belong on a "team".
The legs and the arms going everywhere.
It was so muddy. But she must be a mudder because she had her best time this season.
7 minutes 39 seconds placing 2nd. Madill placed 1st, 2nd & 3rd. I see state championships in their future. It's so funny listening to the other parents saying "well there are those Madill girls again". And then they hush up when they realize that I'm with those Madill girls :) I'm so proud of all of them. What they do every single day training is amazing.

Gingerbread Haunted House
After the 5K Saturday we came home and did this
It was just cold and wet on Saturday. It was so nice just to lay around and do nothing. Brent and Colton went in to watch the OU game at Dad's house. Hannah and I stayed home, laid around, watched movies and made our house for Halloween.
Working on the icing. This poor icing. I added powder sugar and it still was runny when we were trying to decorate. Oh well. It is supposed to be scarey and believe me it was.
This was a Wilton kit I bought at Walmart for 10 bucks. Not bad for a Saturday project.
So who cares if it wasn't perfect. It was about the memories being made :)

Reuel Little Classic 2009
Saturday Hannah ran in her 2nd 5K.
Getting stretched.
A warm up run.
And done.
I'm not sure what her time was; they haven't posted them on the website yet. I know she ran it under 30 minutes. She moved up to an older age group so she got 10th but she does get to go to the Junior High State Cross Country Meet Friday in OKC. I'm so excited for her. This will be her last run for this season. One less thing to do :)
A little Phosphorus news ~ Colton had to bring it home for some readjustments of the electrons but the teacher is letting him turn it in tomorrow. He really liked it and wants to keep it for his class. YEA! Brent was a little heartbroken that he, um I mean Colton isn't done. Cross your fingers for a good grade!!!

Phosphorus
It's been like a Science lab on our dining room table this past weekend. Colton had to make an element for class. It took the whole entire family to do this project but it's done, well except the sign and other little finishing touches I have to do.
I'll let you know what we, um I mean Colton gets on his element :)

Finds
So this past Saturday we had a garage sale on my Dad's house. We started setting up on Friday and worked on it all day long. We still had people come up and look after we told them we were just setting up. We ended up making $375 just on Friday during set up. My Dad did the best making over a $1000. On a garage sale. We mostly had my Grandma's things out for him to sell and get rid of. We still have to go thru Momma's stuff so we are planning on another one next year.
Going thru boxes on Friday I got to pick up a few things that I wanted to keep that belonged to Grandma.
I can remember her using this camera.
Love this old pink pyrex bowl.
Isn't this the cutest? I have a whole set. They make me so happy :)

Homecoming 2009
Last week was Madill's homecoming.
Thursday was mismatch day at the Elementary school.
Colton dressed up on Friday which was black/gold day. He wanted his face painted but I didn't have the stuff. I got a text later showing a picture of him and what they did in Vo Ag.
Someone had face paint :)
Hannah on the Cheer Cats float.
She is really having fun being a 4th grade Cheer Cat. They are so cute and really good. A couple of Mom's have told me how impressed they are with them. I tell them they have been practicing for this moment since they were 4 years old :)

Treasures
It's been weird going thru my Mom's stuff so soon in my life. We are having a garage sale on Saturday mainly to sell a lot of my Grandma's things but also some of my Mom's things that Daddy won't use or doesn't need. We will have to have another one later because there are still closets to be cleaned out. My Mom liked buying/collecting things, LOL! I wanted to share some pictures of treasures I have now.
These knives belonged to my Grandpa Colley (my Mom's Dad). He was a butcher for most of his adult life and these are the knives he used. I want to display them but not sure how I will. I may have them framed in a shadow box.
This teapot belonged to my Grandma Colley (my Mom's Mom). I love it.
It is a McCoy. I didn't know that they were collector items until my sister Shelly told me. She also informed me it's were the phrase "the real McCoy" came from. Who knew?
This came from Brent's side of the family. We have 2 of them. We were going to hang them from our cowboy grill but they are to little. Brent set them on the tables outside and I'm going to put candles in them. He came up with that idea. I'm training him right :)
