Vacation Day One

July 17, 2009 ~ The time had arrived, vacation, aaahhhh! We all needed the break. We had a 2 hour drive to the airport in OKC. I needed to run by the bank before leaving town so we went thru McDonald's for Brent and the kids to have breakfast. I opted to wait for Starbucks :) So while in the bank everyone had their breakfast in the car.

It took about 5 minutes in the bank so I took pictures while everyone finished up. Brent wanted to take my picture but I like taking my own picture because I can hide things that I want to hide :) and also delete until I find one that is okay.

So a picture of me. Not the best but there you go.

After checking in at the airport. We didn't have to wait in line at the ticket counter or at security. Everything went unbelievably smooth.

Colton is at that stage in his life that he is to "cool". He has flown once but the way he was acting you would of thought who flew every weekend. I'm glad he has confidence in himself. He has no self image problem what so ever :)

Hannah was so excited. This was her first time to fly.

Brent was excited too! He got to eat at Scholotzsky's in the airport. The only time he gets to eat Scholotzsky's if he is at Will Rogers Airport OKC or when he isn't with me. I can't stand their sandwiches.

Hannah in the air.

And Joe Cool in the air.

Check back tomorrow for Day 2.

Well Hello Again!

It seems like we have been gone forever. We had a fabulous time in Colorado. Everything went swell until on the way home from the airport. We were about 50 minutes away from home when my SUV started cutting out. Got a hold of the dealership (they were about 20 minutes away) and found out they had a key drop so we just made it there before it died. I'm just glad that it happened that close to home and that we didn't take it to Colorado. I don't want to even imagine that scenario. And a big shout out to my dad for coming over and picking us up and to my mom for letting me use her car until we find out what is going on with mine.

Hannah's ear started hurting yesterday. Hope we can wait for the doctor's office on Monday and not a trip to the ER (knock on wood).

I haven't even started uploading pictures from our trip. I plan on doing that tomorrow and then post each day of our trip during the week. Well that's the plan anyway :) So I will leave you with another slide show of July 4th pictures that I got from my sister in law Becky. Thank you so much for sending me the CD and I will get it in the mail on Monday.

Just sharing some random pictures of the family.

I took this picture of Hannah to use for my Jessica Sprague class. Can't wait until the computer is fixed so I can use my photoshop and try the new things I have learned.

This picture was for my picture of the day yesterday. They are acting like they are getting ready to run me over & then I really thought they were going to run me over :)

This picture of Luke and Ben I took this morning for my picture of the day today. They were laughing hysterically smelling each other's feet. Oh whatt little boys do to entertain themselves.

More Scrapping! Woo. Hoo.

I got 4 more LOs done this weekend. Yea!

I took pictures of Luke & Ben one afternoon while they were playing in the water on the back porch. Talk about cheap entertainment.

Confession ~ I bought this paper just because I liked it and took a picture of Hannah eating a popsicle so I could do a LO with the paper :)

Love this picture of Colton & Max. Colton said Max was smiling.

I love the song "Do You Realize?" by The Flaming Lips. I thought this picture of Hannah was perfect to make a LO using the song title. The journaling says "that you have the most beautiful face." I have "Do You Realize?" over on my playlist if you like to hear how the song goes just in case you haven't heard it before.

Got Scrappy

Brent left yesterday afternoon to go float the Illinois River in Talequah, OK so it's been quite around our house. I got to scrap a little this afternoon and I'm planning on doing more tonight. It has been a long time since I have worked on LOs so it's been nice.

We are getting ready for our trip to Colorado. I can't wait. Our little county has been under heat advisories for the past few days so we are ready for some cooler weather.

4th of July Big Bad Bash

We had a wonderful time yesterday celebrating the fourth of July with family & friends. We had a fish fry for lunch & then a hamburger/hot dog cookout for supper. I thought I got at least one picture of everybody through out the day but I didn't. Everybody that had cameras can email me (slh1mom@gmail.com) their pictures, thank you!

Getting Ready!

We are running around here trying to get everything ready for our 4th of July bash. I need to make cupcakes, make chocolate sheet cake, get veggies ready for hamburgers, make cole slaw, make toppers for cupcakes, make party mix, make a poster and the one I'm dreading the most, clean house. I got up early this morning so I could beat the crowds and heat at Walmart and the grocery store. We live in a lake town so I always plan on shopping when the tourists aren't.

This past week we just have tried staying cool. Colton played in a baseball tournament with yesterday being their last game for the summer, thank you very much. Brent has been working outside getting the place looking fabulous for the weekend.

Here are some random pictures I took this past week. The sunset was gorgeous one evening.

Well I guess I've procrastinated long enough. Wish I could turn into Samantha Stevens and twitch my nose to have everything done. Hope you have a fun and safe holiday weekend.
