He Found His Way Home

And the human beings weren't the only ones who were happy to see him.

Back To School

Saturday we moved Colton to Ada for college. Check in was easy, and he is on the 2nd floor so just one flight of stairs, holla!!!! His roommate plays basketball so he moved in the day before, he wasn't in the room so we didn't get to meet him. Colton says he is nice, a little quiet.

After we got everything unpacked, we went to lunch and then dropped him off at the dorm. We were hovering a little bit and he was ready for us to go so his new adventure could begin.

And just so you know PMS and dropping your first born off at college doesn't mix well.

Our second born started 8th grade today. She was up and getting ready before my alarm went off.

Can't believe this is her last year in middle school. She will be busy until October with cross country and getting ready to test for her black belt.

Here's to a great school year!!!!

Getting Ready

This week I took Hannah to get her clothes and supplies for back to school.

She is ready as she'll ever be. Her day back is Tuesday. She has been getting up early to run but has been coming home and going back to sleep. I hope she makes it through out the school day.

Colton and his friend, Jonathan, went to their college to get books.

When he enrolled, he paid $5 to have his books pulled and ready for him when the time came. They print his schedule and put everything in the reusable bag. Beats standing in line.

We have 2 more days of having Colton with us under our wing. I'll be able to go Saturday to help move him to Ada. Hannah was suppose to run Saturday but her coach decided not to go. I'm nervous for him and excited. And I'll have a box of tissue in the truck for the ride home.

Dad

My dad. He will be 78 next month. He still works, and works circles around people much younger. He came out for supper yesterday evening along with Shelly and her family. They brought the food. Dad cooked. The best kind of cookouts :)

P.S. The world travelers made it back home safe and sound. A good time was had.

Road Trip

These 3 are currently at Beaver Lake in Arkansas for a "we are leaving for college next weekend so let's go have some fun" trip. They left Thursday, ended up driving in storms and had to get a motel for the night because everything was soaking wet and too late to set up camp. There is no telling what kind of motel they picked, hopefully one with no blood stains or meth residue. I know they are having a blast.

Colton

Last Friday Colton and I went shopping for a laptop for college. We are exactly alike when it comes to picking out things, show me a couple of options to choose from and we are good. He ended getting a tablet instead of a laptop. He got a Microsoft Surface. He just really needed something to write papers and access the Internet. He likes it a lot.

He moves to Ada next Saturday, tear. His dad is moving him and I'm staying here for Hannah's first cross country meet. Brent says it probably is for the best, he doesn't want to deal with my "leaving our first born to be a semi adult" tears. He will only be 1 hour away. So everybody cross your fingers that he takes this college stuff seriously and wish him luck.

Fishing

With the rain we have gotten this summer, our pond is still full so we have been fishing a little more.

I caught that 4 1/2 lb bass but I looked like a hobo so Hannah stepped up and did the honors. The girls have skunked Brent fishing. He is blaming it on the worm he's using. Hmmmmmm!

Fun Family Weekend - part 3

This was our final day of fun and we spent it at the Fort Worth Zoo.

We had fun but it was so stinking hot. We got to see the baby elephant that was born a few weeks ago. Bryan said he thinks the OKC zoo is better, I haven't been there in years so we are planning on going up there in the fall. When it's much much much cooler. And I have to check the OU football schedule too before I plan our trip :)

After the zoo we said our goodbyes to Shae and headed home with a stop at Sanger, Texas. We have been wanting to take Bryan to eat at Babe's for years. They have the best fried chicken and Bryan likes fried chicken. Everybody loved the food.

Everybody headed to their homes after Babe's. We had such a good time. We don't live that far from them but its hard getting together to do stuff with everybody so busy. We are going to do better at just making the time. Life is too short!!!
