Happy Halloween

I can't believe it is already here. Where has this year gone? When you were little did time go by slow? It did for me. Anywho, our town is trick or treating tomorrow night because the earth stands still when Halloween falls on Friday night football. Hannah is dressing up as a gothic cheerleader. Should be interesting.

The Bad Thing About Living In The Country

I grew up living in town. Brent grew up in the country. So after we got married we lived in town but always knew eventually we would end up out in the country. We've been out here a few years now and have came across our fair share of critters; rattlesnakes, copperheads, possums (oppossums if you don't live in the south) and, well you get the picture. Last night I flipped on the back porch light, we always have to flip on the light because of said critters surprising us, to grab Max's bowl. As soon as I opened the door and looked down so I don't step on said critters I saw this looking at me.

Well, it wasn't as cute as this one but I screamed so loud and slammed the door. It must have been a young one because it didn't spray me or the dog who finally showed up after he heard my commotion. So please no critters tonight on my back porch. My heart can't anything else right now.

P.S. Did you know this weekend is when we set our clocks back? I much rather fall back than spring forward. Now for a week I'll be doing my "it's 7:00 but really it's 8:00" bit until I start getting dirty looks from my family.

Oklahoma's Largest Hay Maze?

I'm not sure if the advertisement for this place was accurate but we did have fun yesterday. When I read the ad in a local paper I thought we needed to check it out since we were only about 35 minutes away. We paid $5/person which included a hot dog, a drink, a bag of chips and a s'more. They had fire pits so we could roast our hot dogs and marshmallows. The hay maze was included also but after we got there we realized all the other stuff (horse rides, cow train, hay ride etc.) was extra. They failed to mention that in the ad; it was listed like it was included too. I should have known better. Oh well, it was fun!

I'm so glad Hannah is still at that age that she still will do stuff like this with me. But I have a stinkin' feeling she still will when she becomes a teenager. Oh please let that be the case.

She asked for a horse last Christmas & it was mentioned again yesterday after riding this big guy. Oy vey!

Notice she is in shorts. It was gorgeous yesterday but now our county is already under a freeze watch for tomorrow morning. Crazy, huh?

Here she is slingin' pumpkins.

I wish I had the video of my 2 nephews going down the slide. It was hysterical. There was a pretty good drop down to the hay and they landed flat on their faces. Ben came up one time with hay hanging out of his mouth. My sister should send it in to America's Funniest Home Videos.

OPEC

"Officials say that when groups like OPEC have enough supply, they stop production to make the demand go up.

That makes your gas prices increase, which takes the money right of your hands and gives it to the oil cartels".

This was taken from a news story found here. Someone please explain to me why this is allowed.

Are You kidding me?

I just don't understand why people want these 2 in the white house. John McCain has voted with Georgie boy 90% of the time & now they disagree with him? Get outta here!!!

Charhannah

We have been boyfriend drama-free for Hannah. Her only boyfriend has been her dad. Even when all of her little girlfriends were having boyfriends she didn't have any part of it. Well, until now. They have been "going out" for about a month now & she is smitten. She has been sharing her reese's cups with him so it must be serious because the girl likes her reese's cups. He has given her little presents here and there. Mind you they have been things he has found on the playground but, nonetheless, he thought of her which is really sweet in my opinion. But by far the best present was shown to me yesterday as Hannah emptied her book bag. Her boyfriend, Charlie, drew her a picture and at the bottom of said picture was "Charhannah". Now is that not a scrapbook page in the making? Now he better be in school for the halloween party so I can get a picture of the two of them :)

Making Hay

Some cows are going to get fat and sassy from this good stuff this winter. Brent let a guy come cut grass and bail it up so he didn't have to brush hog since diesel is still high.

Happy Birthday Shae

Today is our niece Shae's 16th birthday. I can still remember like it was yesterday feeding her and wanting a baby so bad after spending time with her at Thanksgiving.

Shae & Hannah

Happy Birthday Shae! We love you very much!

It's Just A Little Hocus Pocus

I found this cookie jar a few years ago I think at Hobby Lobby. I got it because it's cute and had Hocus Pocus on it which is my favorite fun Halloween movie to watch. If you haven't seen it, go rent it and watch it with your family. It really is funny.

Getting Political

I try not to be political on this blog, but I'm voting for Barack Obama. I know there is a lot of people who do not agree with his views and that is okay, after all this is America & and I'm glad I have the right to vote how I want.

Now to my point ~ I just came across what Congresswoman Michele Bachmann a republican from Minnesota said about Senator Obama and basically every liberal.......that they are anti-American. Are you kidding me? How in the hell did this woman get elected in the first place? I wonder if she thinks liberal servicemen and servicewomen who have died fighting for this country were anti-American?

Click here to see part of the interview with Chris Matthews.

This is Katrina Vanden Heuvel response to Bachmann and I completely agree with what she had to say. Go here if you want to hear what she said.

Oh and just a side note, I watched Colin Powell's interview on Meet the Press & he is endorsing
Barack Obama :)

Now I Have A Reason To Buy The Mr. Campy Line

For the past several years Brent and my Dad will take the kids camping during fall break or Thanksgiving break. I will usually go out one night to eat but that is it. I have to have a potty. Yes, the campground has a potty but, well I'm not even going to go there.

For a girl, our girl likes to camp, but she gets bored fast. She called me Friday wanting me to go get a friend of hers and bring her to the lake. I didn't. But she found someone to play with so dad and PaPa got a little bit of quiet.

I have so many pictures of Colton in this tree thru the years. It is the perfect tree for climbing. He wanted to sleep up there by duct taping his arms to the limb so he wouldn't fall. His dad told him that the Department of Human Services would probably frown upon that.

This is Brent. I'm so glad he does this with the kids. And it gives me 2 days to the house by myself. I should be much nicer to him.

And this is my dad AKA PaPa. He has this camping thing down to a fine art. My mom has him organized with plastic containers that has all of the camping gear in it so all they have to do is load it up and go.

This is nephew Ben. He is discovering the art of a s'more minus the hot marshmallow. He likes the chocolate the best.

This is sister Shelly and her son, my nephew Luke. Her birthday was actually Wednesday but we waited until Thursday to have her party because she wanted a weiner roast. So we killed 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak.

Making Memories

This is a LO I did of Hannah. It is when she was helping me put out Halloween decorations and she asked if we could listen to music on so later we could say, "remember when we decorated for Halloween we listened to music". How sweet is that?

A Halloween Blast from the Past

Found a video of a disney cartoon I loved watching when I was little. It put a smile on my face. I'm thinking the disney channel will play all of their halloween cartoons; I hope so. Click here and I'm sure it will bring back fond memories for you.

Birthday Present

This is the mini album I made for my sister for her birthday. I used the Cosmo Cricket Blackboard album and BasicGrey Archaic paper pack and rub-ons. I used glossy accents on the cover filling in the bigger circles. I really like how this turned out. Hope she likes; how could she not, it's her babies :)

Running a 5K

Saturday, October 11, Hannah ran in her first 5K . She was so excited and to my surprise not nervous.

This is her finishing. She was so happy and she told me she didn't even stop to walk.

This is her aunt SheShe (my sister Shelly). She entered so she could run with Hannah. They let the cross country kids start in the front so Shelly never really saw her until it was over. Shelly has run for years but this was her first 5K and she placed 2nd in her age group. She left before the awards ceremony so I would like to accept this award on her behalf. First off I would like to thank the academy........ Sorry got side tracked.

And how did Miss Hannah do you ask?

First place baby!!! Her age group was 8 and under. There was only one other girl in her age group :) She has caught the 5K fever. She was asking when she could do it again. The next hometown run won't be until June and she told me, didn't ask, but told me I was running with her. She also informed me that she is my coach and that today I will start training. Oy vey!

ATTENTION RATTLESNAKES

Dear Mr. Rattlesnake ~

If you come up on my backporch on a hot summer day to get away from the hustle and bustle world of being a snake you will be shot. And I do feel bad for you since you have lived for 14 years but you are a bad mama jama. So your memory will live on mounted on a piece of wood displayed in Colton's room. He will show you off to lots of his friends and tell the story of you for years to come.
