Fishing

Hannah bugged Brent all weekend long to go fishing. It was killing her that Colton and his friend Gage was going without her.

Monday evening we headed down to the pond. This made Hannah a happy Hannah.

I was told to let everyone know she caught 7. After every fish she caught, she would ask her brother if he had caught any yet. I'm raising a true smartass :)

This was the biggest one she caught.

Colton was fishing for bass. I wanted to take a picture of his fish but he didn't catch anything until I went back to the house. Not sure if I believe that one :)

Sod

Happy Memorial Day. Hope you are having a good one. We have had a very productive weekend. It's nice to get all of those little projects done. We had one big project to get done this weekend. Laying down sod.

We had 5 pallets to get laid down.

That's were it was going. Brent worked all Friday evening getting it leveled and ready to go.

This is the foredog. He is always making sure things are getting done right.

He's like me; breaks are more fun.

Brent worked after the sun went down. He is a dedicated sod putter downer.

Check back tomorrow for more pictures of our sod project.

Bad Boy

This is what Brent brought home on Friday. It's his new baby.

It makes him so happy.

He let us test drive it. Here is Colton.

Hannah is not quite big enough to go by herself.

I got to drive it too. I was told I was tearing up the lawn. Guess I won't be mowing anytime soon :)

Grandpa & Grandma Ward

I borrowered pictures from my sister Shelly so I could get copies of them. They are of my dad's parents. They had 9 kids.

This is of my Grandpa Ward. I never knew him; he past away before I was even a thought. He died suddenly while sitting in his rocking chair. One of the stories I remember people telling about him is that he was very hard of hearing and wore some type of hearing device. When people came over to visit he would sit in his rocking chair, turn down his hearing aid down and just smile and nodded his head making people think he was listening to them. Too funny.

This is my Grandma Ward. Wasn't she a hottie? Absolutely gorgeous. She died in her 80s. One story that stands out about her is when they would take road trips she always took food. To reheat things she would set things out near the rear window. Very green before being green was cool.

I'm planning on doing a scrapbook page using these pictures so if you've seen some paper that would be perfect to use please let me know.

Fountain

It was a beautiful day today. No rain, low humidity, cool temperature, perfect. Brent and I finally got around to watch the season finale of LOST. The writers on that show were on acid for sure. Can't believe we have to wait until January 2010 for the next season which will be the final season. What will we ever do on Wednesday nights?

Brent got on his tractor this morning and got our road back in shape. It took a beating with all of the rain. He also got out our fountain.

Just a few more things need to be done and it will be good to go.

What A Wild Week

It has been a wild week and wanted to catch all of you up to speed. First of all, my grandmother past away yesterday. It is bittersweet. She was 90 years old and up until the beginning of January lived in her own house, knew what was going on in the world, etc. That is a pretty good run. She was ready to go and yesterday told my mom she was tired and was ready. My mom told her it was okay so my grandma closed her eyes and my mom and sister stayed with her. Mom said about an hour past and my grandma woke up and asked "I'm I still here?" :)

So back to the beginning of the week. Hannah tested for her purple belt on Monday.

In action.

She got it.

I'm really impressed with her. I usually just drop her off for class and I haven't watched her in a long time. So only 3 more belts until she can test for her black belt.

Yesterday we entered the braces world for Hannah. Colton is very lucky, his teeth are straight as a board. Hannah, not so much.

Before

After

The braces make her look so much older, sigh. They are bothering her a little but not so bad she can't eat, LOL!

Hannah has only 5 more school days left after today. Colton has 3 more if he is exempt from his semester test and we are pretty sure he will be. Good job Colton.

Thanks for hanging in after the long post. We are ready for things to get back to normal.

Hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day. The kids made me cute cards. Brent and the kids got me a windmill.

Isn't it cute? Brent did a good job of picking it out.

We had lunch at my parent's house. I had some family in visiting so it was good to see them. After lunch, my sister and I went to this little store/house that had antiques and homemade candles and stuff. Here is her website. I had no idea that this place even existing. The scents are fantastic. I bought a couple of the tarts to see how they do. They are still in their little bags and I can smell them.

She also has antiques.

I found this old kitchen scale. I love it. It was only $12. Check out her website. Her prices are very reasonable.

Colton's Baseball Page

My LSS has really cute papers with our school colors and mascot. I got 11 pictures of Colton playing ball, yay, on one page. Love the big square punch I got last weekend.

More Rain

We had another round of storms come thru early this morning. So the boys and I took a little field trip this morning for some pictures.

The boys are my nephews Luke and Ben. Luke (left) is 4 today. We are going to Fort Washita for a picnic.

Guess we don't have to worry about the pond not being full for summer.

Earlier this morning the water was almost to the top of the spillway. Luke has asked about 50 times what that thing is called and what does it do. Oy!

Brent's makeshift dam broke making a little waterfall. I'm calling it "Henry Falls".
