A Stay in the House Kind of Day

We are having a snowy day. Thankfully we missed the ice part, which is what we usually get, and it has been snowing since around noon. Brent picked up the kids from school for me, thanks honey, so I wouldn't have to get out.

So everybody is home safe and sound, chili is cooking on the stove and

a fire burning in the fireplace. A perfect Friday evening.

A Dollar Tree Find

I know, a boring post for most but if you are a Mom who has collected those little plastic "themed" cups from your kid's classroom parties for gazillion years you will appreciate this; or not. Anywho, I ran into The Dollar Tree in a neighboring town yesterday. They had typical "dollar store" stuff. I came across these little tumblers.

I {heart} these little glasses so much. They are plastic and small around so Luke and Ben's little hands can hold them without any problem. The only downsize is they aren't dishwasher safe, but that is okay because I generally have dishwater in the sink.

So there you go, the little things that make me excited :) And I know longer have "themed" plastic cups in my house. Woo. Hoo.

Love the contrast of the pretty tulips and the dry grass. I'm ready for Spring and green grass. Our temperatures will be tempting us this week; 60s all week long. A far cry from what we were since the last time I updated.

Our lives have been the same old same old. Work, school ~ yada yada yada. I have lots of crafty things I want to work on but just can't get motivated. I'm trying to finish up my project 365 album. I've got all of the pictures in the album and I've started catching up on journaling; haven't done any since August and reliving Mom's downhill turn and death has been depressing.

I've got a new hair color ~ RED! It is growing on me. It's really just a lot of red highlights. The next time I'm done up I will post a picture.

It's cold y'all. And with the windchill, it's really cold y'all. And my youngest forgot her coat this morning (eyeroll).

2010! So Far So Good (knock on wood)

Happy New Year!!!!! We celebrated with friends playing dominoes. Can't believe I actually stayed up after midnight so yea!

So I celebrated my 40th birthday on 12/26. 40. Wow. Brent had planned an awesome surprise but the Oklahoma Blizzard of 2009 put a damper on that real fast. He had planned a surprise party at a pizza joint with my family & his family. Then he had a "ticket" for a roadtrip to Kansas City; my dad was going to be our driver. I've always wanted to go up during the holidays to see the Christmas lights. He had to tell me the night before because he didn't want my family to drive up; the interstate was horrible. Quick change of plans; we ate with his family, left the kids with MeMe and PaPa and headed back home to regroup. We planned on going to Bossier. My dad cooked steaks out for all of us for my birthday so 2 celebrations. Yea again! Our niece and her husband came down to stay at our house so it was fun having them there too.

We got up the next morning, got packed and headed to Dad's to pick him up. The night before we were trying to find rooms in Bossier and couldn't find anything. We thought once we got there, we could find something. We got to the stoplight and decided to go to Tulsa instead. So thus began "The Jimmy Ward Casino Tour".

Things didn't work out like Brent originally planned but him just planning all that he did meant a lot to me. I was impressed to say the least. We had just as much fun. So thanks Brent Henry for a great 40th birthday. Love you!!!!
